The inside story

The Vltava River is the longest river in the Czech Republic, starting in the Šumava mountain range in South Bohemia and flows all the way to the middle of Bohemia. The river is 270 miles long and passes through Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, where it covers around 19 miles within the city center. There are a total of 18 bridges in Prague that cross over the river including the famous Charles Bridge.

The Vltava River has become a popular tourist attraction for its visitors. There are many water activities you can do on the river from kayaking, canoeing, renting a boat for the day or taking part in a river cruise. In the Náplavka area of the river, a farmers market is held every Saturday where you can buy local produce, baked good, pottery and crafts along the river.

Bars as well as old docked ships that have been turned into bars and floating restaurants line the river during the spring and summer where you can drink and eat the typical Czech dishes to accompany the beer.

Exploring the city of Prague by water is a thing of beauty. You can admire the iconic sites such as the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the Petrin Lookout Tower as you sail through the heart of Prague. There are a variety of boat tours and cruises that are offered to you. They include a quick one hour cruise, a 2 hour tour or a romantic 3 hour dinner cruise.

Leave the bustle of the city behind and come relax on a cruise in Prague’s majestic Vltava River.
