The tour kicks off with a bus transfer from your pick-up point to the bustling port of Athinios, followed by a voyage on a traditional boat to the lava island of Nea Kameni. This vessel will pause briefly, allowing you the chance to ascend the earthy trail and get up close to the crater of this still-active volcano. Once you've had your fill of the crater's awe-inspiring sight, it's time to descend the path and reboard the boat.
Next, you'll sail to Palea Kameni, the second lava island, where you'll encounter the hot springs. The boat anchors about 50 metres from the opening, providing an opportunity for a refreshing dip in the warm, orange waters or simply to sit back and soak up the view.
The journey then continues to Thirasia Island, once part of Santorini before a massive volcanic eruption. Here, you'll have ample time to swim, savour a seaside lunch or explore the charming village of Manolas with its maze-like steps and traditional dwellings.
As you sail past Oia on your return to Athinios port, don't miss the chance to capture some memorable photos of the dramatic cliffs and mesmerising scenery. Upon reaching Athinios port, a bus will be ready to whisk you back to your original starting point, bringing your excursion to a satisfying conclusion.
