Get ready for an exciting whale-watching tour out on the sea! Spot whales and other wildlife in the waters around the boat and listen to an expert who will tell you all about whales as you spot the horizon. This ticket includes an open date entrance to the Whales of Iceland Exhibition. A must-visit when in Reykjavik and to learn even more about the beautiful animals!
During the summer months (from June to September), you have the option to choose between two different boat tours. The whale watching classic is a 3-hours tour and the whale watching express takes 2-hours. You can decide which tour you want on the day itself before boarding the ship. Put on your thermal overalls and look out for humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbor porpoises on the drive to Faxaflói Bay. These four animals are the most commonly spotted mammals in the bay. The English-speaking expert guide on board the ship will tell you more about the different marine life in the area.
Before or after your boat tour, you can visit the exhibition to learn even more about the amazing whales you will see out at sea. With your open ticket to the Whales of Iceland Exhibition, you will stand eye to eye with 23 life-size models of different whale species like a blue whale, sperm whale, and the North Atlantic right whale. Experience underwater life through sounds, lights, and touch. For a full experience, you can follow the audio guide which is available in 12 languages, or follow the free guided tour in English held twice a day. Finish your visit to the museum at the Fin Whale Room where you can watch the informative Sonic Sea film showing twice a day.
