The first stop of your tour will be the famous sculpture of Sólfar ('Sun Voyager'), looking over the ocean with Mount Esja in the background. After you taking in this beautiful sight you will continue to the Hallgrímskirkja Church and go up to the bell tower for an incredible panoramic view over the city with its multi-coloured rooftops. Spot Faxaflói Bay, the mountains and volcanoes surrounding Reykjavik.
Next stop is a visit to the Einar Jónsson sculpture garden. Continue strolling through the streets of Þingholt neighbourhood towards the City Pond and visit the Reykjavik City Hall to look at the super-sized topographical map of Iceland while your guide explains you some of Iceland’s fascinating geology and volcanic history.
Your tour will then reach the heart of the city, passing the Alþingi Parliament House, the beautiful cathedral and the site of the first Viking homesteads in the city. From there you walk towards the Old Harbour, the developing area of the city. Walk on to the north shore from the harbour to visit the impressive Harpa Concert Hall before reaching your final stop at the Volcano House.
