You’ll explore the untamed wilderness of Kenya over four action-packed days. From the red volcanic soil in the plains of Tsavo East National Park, to the swamps and marshes of Amboseli National Park, you’ll be led by expert guides and trackers for the best chance of spotting Africa’s legendary ‘big five’. Here’s a closer look at your trip…
Day one: It’s an early morning drive towards Tsavo East National Park with your first game drive enroute to the lodge for check-in and lunch. Relax and take a swim before setting off to the park for your afternoon game drive in search of the big five animals. You’ll return to Ashnil Aruba Lodge at sunset for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day two: After an early breakfast, you’ll pack up and head to Amboseli National Park. There’s a morning game drive enroute to Amboseli Sentrim Camp, where you’ll arrive in time for lunch. Then, hop into the 4x4 for an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife including cheetah, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos and the large herds of elephants that this park is famous for. Cross your fingers for clear weather and you may be able to spot the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro framing your photos. Then, return to the camp for a well-earned dinner before turning in for the night.
Day three: You’re up bright and early for a morning game drive into the park to take advantage of the cooler temperatures, soft light for photographs and to see the animals at a typically active time. Return to the camp for breakfast and then it’s on towards Taita Hills Sanctuary for lunch. In the afternoon you’ll escape the crowds and head to Salt Lick Safari Lodge. It’s built on stilts overlooking a floodlit waterhole for a great view of animals coming for a drink. There’s an afternoon game drive in the sanctuary before you return to the lodge at sunset. Then, before dinner, you’ll depart for a night game drive where you’ll be on the lookout for nocturnal animals. Talk about your best spots over dinner before an overnight stay at Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
Day four: Start with an early morning game drive in the sanctuary before returning to the lodge for breakfast and heading out again mid-morning for your final game drive of the trip. Have lunch at the resort before checking out and heading back to Mombasa.
