Starting in about mid-May and lasting until September, a specie of marine plankton, called a dinoflagellate grows in number in the Indian River Lagoon. This little critter emits a brief 1/10 second of light when the water around it is disturbed. That doesn’t sound like much but put billions of these little guys together and you have an underwater firework show that you will never forget!
This tour is limited to no more than 12 people so you don't get lost in the crowd and can enjoy the intimacy of this spectacular show. The guide will take you to the best spots to see the phenonium known as bioluminescence and tell you about how it happens.
