What to expect

Kick off your journey in Lefkara Village, recognised as one of the '30 most beautiful towns in Europe'. This charming village is the birthplace of Cypriot folk handicrafts and is renowned for its exquisite handmade lace, known as Lefkaritikon. The famed Renaissance artist, Leonardo da Vinci, visited Cyprus in 1481 and purchased a large tablecloth from here, which he later donated to Milan Cathedral. The village is also celebrated for its silverware and distinctive architecture.

Next, you'll delve into the world of Cyprus Delights. In 1925, these sweet treats from Lefkara were showcased at the British Royal Exhibition and won an award for their taste and aroma. Since then, this local family workshop has continued to garner accolades for over a century.

Following this, you'll explore Kato Drys Village. The village's architecture, a prime example of 19th-century local design, offers a glimpse into its rich cultural heritage, enhanced by the artwork that decorates the street walls.

Then you'll make your way to Ktima Christoudia, a local winery in Kato Drys. You'll follow the winemaking process from grape to glass, providing a fascinating insight into the art of viticulture.

Finally, you'll visit Terra Oliva Olive Park. Here, you'll learn all about olives and sample some of the most iconic varieties. With more than 7,000 olive trees and hundreds of ancient ones aged between 300 and 1,000 years, it's an experience not to be missed.

Walking tour of Nicosia with guide

Nicosia is a fascinating city to explore – offering you a glimpse of two very different worlds. This tour starts in the Cypriot southern area and passes the 'Green Line' buffer zone to explore the northern part of Nicosia.Your first stop is the St John's Cathedral, built in the Franco-Byzantine style – unique to Cyprus – and the Cyprus Folk Art Museum, housed in the premises of the old Archbishopric Palace. Next up is a walking tour through the historic streets of Laiki Geitonia inside the Venetian city walls. It's a maze of winding streets with churches, squares and ornate buildings, and it feels more like a village than the heart of a city,After passing the Green Line to the north, you'll hear tales of the city's history and culture as you tick off some of the main sites. Then, you'll walk back into the southern area to Ledra Street and embrace modern city life under your own steam.
