Experience one of the most traditional forms of Vietnamese art at a Water Puppet Show in Hanoi. After your guide picks you up from your hotel, they will take you to watch the artfully crafted puppets seemingly dance on water, accompanied by a live orchestra.
Originating in northern Vietnam, the shows are now known beyond the countries borders and are an event that is not be missed during your trip. In the 11th century, villagers used to put on puppet shows after the rice paddies flooded. Today, you can see the tradition, which is UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage-listed, in the theaters throughout Hanoi.
