The inside story
Portugal’s southern coast offers visitors the natural rock formations of Ponta da Piedade. Located near Lagos in the Algarve, the best way to explore the Ponta da Piedade is by boat. Hop onboard to explore the sea caves, secret coves and grottos that have formed over the years. Snap photos of the rocks and learn more about them. Some even have nicknames – you’ll find the Gorilla, the Elephant, Titanic and more. There are plenty of beaches to stop off at too for a swim or snorkelling experience. Don’t miss out on Batata, Pinhão, Camilo, Canavial and Porto de Mós beaches. You can also hike along the coastal paths to take in panoramic views of the area.
