Ride along one of Europe's most iconic high-altitude cycling routes on the Strada dell'Assietta, a former military road that stays almost entirely above 2,000 metres and links Colle del Sestriere with Colle delle Finestre.
This half-day tour is designed for beginner and intermediate gravel cyclists looking for an alpine adventure on unpaved roads. Starting in Sauze d'Oulx, the route climbs steadily through fir and larch forests before reaching the ridge that separates Val di Susa from Val Chisone.
Once on the ridge, the landscape opens up onto a wide, compact dirt road with long, uninterrupted views across the Parco Naturale del Gran Bosco di Salbertrand and towards the French Alps. The surface remains smooth and rideable, allowing you to focus on the surroundings as much as the cycling.
Throughout the ride, a certified guide shares context on the construction of this military engineering marvel and the high-altitude biodiversity that characterises the Alpi Cozie, adding depth to the experience.
