A special vehicle takes you through Potsdam on the traces of almost 50 years of Soviet history!
In the minibus called Buchanka (tin loaf), because of its charming shape, the tour starts at Potsdam's main train station towards the city center with a short stop at the Alter Markt. At Bassinplatz, between the French and Dutch quarters, is Potsdam's Soviet Cemetery of Honor, a final resting place for hundreds of fallen Soviet soldiers after the end of World War II.
Next, you'll head to Cecilienhof Palace, the historic site of the Potsdam Conference. In the summer of 1945, the heads of state of the Soviet Union, Great Britain and the United States met in the UNESCO World Heritage Park Neuer Garten to decide on the future of post-war Europe.
Afterwards, the Buchanka will take you to the Glienicke Bridge, which is world-famous as a spy bridge, because of the Hollywood production "Bridge of Spies". Potsdam's bridge of fate once separated East and West.
