If your idea of Sunday fun means browsing market stalls, sampling local specialities and soaking up local culture, then this morning trip will be right up your street. You'll stop at a viewpoint first to take in the famous Bandama crater, then head into the mountains for a look at two of Gran Canaria's most authentic markets.
The first market is in San Mateo. It's located in a fertile valley, and is the perfect setting for growing fruit and vegetables.
After that, you'll then visit what many consider to be the prettiest town on the island – Teror. Colourful colonial houses, overhanging wooden balconies and views of the cloud-shrouded mountains are just a few reasons why it's so highly regarded. You'll have a chance to explore the stalls of its street market and maybe buy some local chorizo before heading back.
