The inside story
Neptune's Fountain, Gdansk is located in the center of Dlugi Targ (the Long Market) in front of the entrance to the Artus Court, has grown to be one of Gdansk's most recognizable symbols.
It is a historic fountain in Gdańsk, a mannerist-rococo masterpiece, that was first erected in 1549 and converted to its current fountain form in 1633.
Fortunately, during World War II the fountain was spared from destruction because it was taken apart and hidden with other Gdańsk treasures. This landmark was relocated to its rightful place in the heart of the city in 1954.
