Maak een tocht door het westen van La Palma om een dorp te zien dat in een grot verborgen ligt. Onderweg stop je voor een koffiepauze bij El Time, een uitkijkpunt dat uitkijkt over de Aridane-vallei. Daarna ga je verder naar El Poris de Candelaria, een klein dorpje in een 50 meter hoge grot. Hier is het 10 minuten lopen naar de kust, langs de witgeschilderde huizen die door de lokale bevolking zijn gebouwd om aan de zomerhitte te ontsnappen. Het rustigere water op dit deel van het eiland is waar de vissersboten meer dan 100 jaar geleden werden aangemeerd.

On the 19th of September 2021 a new volcanic crater was formed near La Palma. The volcano previously known as Cumbre Vieja erupted, completely changing the landscape west of the city. Hiking 6.5km on the newly christened Tajogaite – cracked mountain – you'll almost reach the crater. From here, awesome views of the lava flows and the Aridane Valley open up.
