The inside story
The beautiful Church of San Nicolás is Valencia’s very own version of the Sistine Chapel. Situated in the centre of Valencia, Spain, the 13th century Church of San Nicolás was recently restored to reveal the grandeur of the fresco paintings found lining the church’s ceilings.
Upon entering the Church of San Nicolás, you’ll be immediately greeted by an extravagant interior decorated in Baroque style. Once inside, one can’t help but gaze in awe at the striking, large-scale frescoes designed by Antonio Palomino depicting the life of Saint Nicholas and Saint Peter Martyr. You'll also see a lavish main altar, six chapels, and a stained glass rose window.
