Get ready to work with your hands, tap into your creativity, and make something special to take home from Krakow — all while giving back to the local homeless community.
Your tour starts at Wolnica Square in a small pub serving craft beer from a local, mountain microbrewery. It’s an ideal place to get to know each other and find out more about local culture and history.
Next, cross Krakow’s pedestrian bridge where you’ll see some of the best panoramic views of the city, and find yourself in the local district Podgórze, one of the greenest areas of the city, filled with unique attractions that most visitors don’t typically experience.
After a short walk around this neighborhood hearing about its fascinating history, visit Żywa Pracownia (Alive Space), a local folk art centrer known widely for the goodness and empathy of its staff and a beautifully decorated interior. This is where you'll get creative!
Following instructions given by specialists at the center, you will have the opportunity to make some unique souvenirs according to designs and ideas that are more than 100 years old. Working with different tools and up-cycled, natural materials to create our souvenirs, making them even more special. If you get hungry, you’ll also be snacking on some handmade Polish cake while working.
Besides having fun, eating homemade cake, and creating an unforgettable, handmade souvenir from Krakow, discover the important story behind the place where you’re working and its mission to help homeless people in the community. In short, just by participating in this tour, you’ll be providing up to five bowls of hot soup to people who need it.
After the tour, the handmade souvenir in hand, be sure to ask your guide for suggestions for what else to see and do in the area — they're always happy to help!
