The Art Museum is located in one of the most notable buildings in the old town of Girona: the old Episcopal Palace, listed as a Historic-Artistic Site. Enjoy several collections from the Bishopric of Girona, the Girona Provincial Council, and the art funds of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The collections of Romanesque and Gothic art stand out with large altarpieces such as Púbol or Cruïlles. You can also admire stunning pieces from the Renaissance, such as the altarpieces attributed to Joan de Burguña or Pere Mates. As well as works of Catalan painting and sculpture of the centuries XIX and XX with works by Miquel Blay, the Vayreda brothers, Santiago Rusiñol, and others.
