Join a small group tour of a maximum of 15 people and wander through the streets and piazzas of Florence with an expert local guide who will tell all you need to know about the city’s history. You'll have the chance to admire the monuments, squares and markets of this beautiful city while you learn about its masterpieces and wonderful architecture.
The tour starts at the Church of Santa Croce and Bargello Palace and then proceeds on to Florence’s most famous and oldest bridge that dates to the fourteenth century, Ponte Vecchio. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the hills that surround Florence; your guide will recount the history of the bridge and how the Vasari Corridor radically changed the botteghe (shops) that line there inside.
Next, you'll be taken to Piazza della Signoria, the political centre of Florence which houses the famous Ufizzi Gallery and Palazzo Vecchio, the historic seat of the Florentine Government. A short detour from the main tourist routes takes you into the oldest part of Florence to see the medieval tower houses and then it is on to the Piazza Duomo.
In this magnificent square, you'll see the stunning Cathedral with its unique marble engravings and, towering above everything, Brunelleschi’s Dome, a wonder of Renaissance architecture and an enduring symbol of Renaissance Florence. In the square, you'll also find Giotto’s famous bell tower and the Baptistery with its stunning Porta del Paradiso. The tour ends in front of the church of San Lorenzo and from here you can explore the surrounding market area.
