The Department of Parks and Wildlife has announced operation of the first ever in water humpback whale swimming tours conducted from the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Marine Park, departing from Exmouth. Join this exciting opportunity available in Western Australia, with only a handful of other locations around the world, to be commercially licensed to offer this experience. The Ningaloo Marine Park is recognized as one of the major migratory routes for these magnificent creatures on their annual journey from Antarctica to the Kimberley region with an estimated 30,000 passing by and resting in these sheltered waters.
Guests are offered a humpback whale experience on-board a very stable, spacious 58ft sailing catamaran, which provides a 360-degree viewing platform and the opportunity to lounge and relax on the comfortable day beds, bow nets and various seating spots while soaking up and enjoying the beauty of the Ningaloo Marine Park.
With the use of the tour providers own spotter plane, the pilot will direct your guide to pods of whales and any other marine life spotted from above. Your crew, experienced in reading whales behaviors and interaction viability, will take a small group of up to 5 people, into the water to swim with a the majestic humpback whales, for a truly once in a lifetime experience. Guests who book as "Observers" are welcome to participate in all activities except for entering the water with a humpback whale.
Following your swim with the whales, you will be treated to a delicious buffet lunch, and have the opportunity to snorkel with colorful fish, manta rays and sea turtles in the lagoon. Time permitting choose to show off your abilities on the Stand up paddle boards and kayaks. At the end of your tour you will be returned to your hotel on board the tour providers private bus.
