Whilst the hugely popular Game of Thrones TV series, adapted from George Martin’s "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, is filmed all over Europe, many of the key locations are based in Northern Ireland. The Game of Thrones tour from Belfast will give you the chance to see iconic sites from Season 1 to 8 from your very own local maester, a fan of both the books and TV series who will recall incredible tales of legend and local history that could come right out of the books.
Departing from central Belfast, you’ll take a short stop at a location from Season 6, before heading off to the caves where Melisandre of Asshai gave birth to her ‘shadow assassin’, who then went on to slay Renly Baratheon.
There will be a lunch stop in the small coastal town of Ballymoney. You can bring your own lunch but there will be various places where you can purchase food on the day.
After lunch, you'll have the opportunity to explore The Giant's Causeway. Even though it hasn't been featured in the show, it is a worthwhile visit and you'll have approximately 1.5 hours to explore this spectacular place.
Stop for a photo at the House of Greyjoy and the Dark Hedge. This is one of Northern Ireland's most photographed locations and is the place where Arya Stark dressed as a boy to escape from King’s Landing. After a jam-packed day, you'll return back to Belfast.
