What to expect

Reading a book is one thing, but to roam the world where its story takes place, to follow in the footsteps of its characters, to turn its pages into a reality is a different thing altogether. Enjoy this walking tour as a once in a lifetime opportunity to wander around the unforgettable Barcelona depicted in Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s novel, The Shadow of the Wind. Experience this novel that has captivated thousands of readers from all around the world in a way like never before. From the text to life, from imagination to reality!

Like Daniel Sempere, Julian Carax, Fermín Romero de Torres and other characters from the novel, you will wander through a labyrinth full of mysteries and surprises exploring the enchanting city of Barcelona. This fascinating tour allows you to follow the characters’ journey, embody them, moving through spaces both beautiful and unsettling that still breathe the darkness of Barcelona in the early 20th century including: Santa Anna Street, the Ark Theater, the King's Square, The Ramblas, Sant Felip Neri Square and Montcada Street.

Rambla Sta. Mónica, Plaza Real (Royal Square), down Llibreteria Street. Going through Argenteria Street we reach Santa Maria del Mar and Montcada Street to discover the Santa Lucía Asylum and Xampanyet. The next stop is Els Quatre Gats, Santa Ana Street and Canuda Street to learn about the Athenaeum of Barcelona, "a spot in the city that hasn't left the 19th century".
