What to expect

The mountain of Montserrat, unique in the world for its distinctive shape, is located less than one hour from the city of Barcelona.

Montserrat comprises the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary of Montserrat and the Benedictine monastery, which, for almost 1,000 years, has been at the service of pilgrims from all over the world, who come to worship the Black Madonna, a Romanesque sculpture dating from the late 12th century featuring delicately carved features.

This visit takes you to discover the heart of Montserrat. It includes entry to the "Montserrat behind closed doors" Audiovisual Room, spirits tasting at the Shop and one-way Montserrat Rack Railway ticket

Covering a distance of 1,350m at an average speed of 5 m/s, the Cable Car can comfortably transport visitors up the mountain in just 5 minutes, overcoming gradients of up to 45%.

The Montserrat Audiovisual Room showcases what Montserrat is all about and what it means. The exhibition revolves around three main elements: the mountain, the monastery and the sanctuary. Finally, you'll have the chance to take a break at any moment to enjoy a tasting of Montserrat spirits at our Shop (la Botiga).
