What to expect

Enjoy a full-day tour of Mount Etna with the the opportunity to hike its slopes and reach high altitudes.

Hop in a bus with your tour leader and depart for the UNESCO World Heritage site. Your first point of arrival will be at the Alcantara Gorge, where you'll make a short stop to admire the river that was formed from solidified basalt.

Then, proceed to Randazzo where you will ride the 'Circumetnea', an old traditional narrow-gauge train that goes around the foot of the volcano reaching up to Adrano in the south. Next, by bus again, continue up to 1,900 meters for a stop with free time for soft trekking to visit the most recent lava flows and the now extinct, Silvestri craters.

These decisions may impact the tour and the maximum altitude which can be reached
Strongly recommended to wear warm clothing and suitable shoes
Boots and jacket can be rented for Euro 5,00 per piece at the cable car station
Note high-altitude ascents are not recommended for people with heart disease, asthmatics and pregnant women
