What to expect

The Synagogue of Siena, located a few steps from Piazza del Campo, was designed by architect Zanobi del Rosso. Inaugurated in 1786, the building is one of the few examples of Rococo and Neoclassical architecture in the area.

The facade, simple and unadorned, contrasts with the elegant and richly decorated interior. Still used by the local Jewish community, the synagogue houses ancient silverware and ritual vestments and offers the possibility to visit the suggestive ancient women's gallery, which is now used for temporary exhibitions and educational activities.

Please be aware that it is necessary to check the opening times as starting from 20th August the Synagogue will be closed for renovation works until further notice
Reduced price tickets are available for: children from 6 to 14 years old, students from 15 to 26 years old, groups of more than 20 people, journalists and holders of a ticket to the Synagogue and Jewish Museum of Florence
Admission is free of charge for: children under 6, people with disabilities and carers, 1 coordinator per group of 20+ people (free tickets available at the ticket office)
If you purchase a reduced or free ticket, you will need to present a valid document at the ticket office to certify your right to reduced or free admission. Otherwise, you will not be admitted to the site
