Mount Rigi excursions and tours

Mount Rigi, also known as 'The Queen of the Mountains', is located in the heart of Switzerland. The mountain is part of the Scwyzer Alps and is surrounded by three different bodies of water: Lake Zug, Lake Lucerne, and Lake Laurez. It has been a popular tourist attraction for many years as it is only 13 miles from Lucerne and 30 miles from Zurich's city centre.

The mountain's main summit, Rigi Kulm, is situated 5,900 ft (1,798 metres) above sea level and is a place that people from all over come to visit. The area offers views of 13 magnificent lakes on a clear day and breath-taking views of the Swiss Alps and other mountain ranges.

Discover Mount Rigi and ride on Europe's first mountain railway, the Rigi Railways (Rigi Bahnen), from Vitznau, and treasure the panoramic views along the way. Since 1871, the railway has been serving its visitors a more relaxed way to get around and to arrive at the summit. There are also other modes of transportation from different parts of the mountain that will bring you to Rigi Kulm; including cable cars and cogwheel railways.

The whole area offers many activities such as snowboarding, skiing, sledding in the winter, and hiking in the summer or winter. In the wintertime there are over 20 miles of trails to choose from, and over 75 miles of hiking trails during the summer so strap up your hiking boots and head up one of the many trails Mount Rigi has to offer!

Mount Rigi can easily be reached easily by car or train but if you book an excursion, you won't have to worry about that because round trip transportation is included. Half-day and full-day tours offer boat trips across the fjord-like waters, allowing you to admire the views from the water before you climb up the mountain.
