The inside story

The Eagle's Nest is a Third Reich-era building erected on top of mount Kehlstein, near the German town of Berchtesgaden. During the thirties and forties it was used exclusively by members of the Nazi Party for social and government meetings. There are fourteen documented visits by Adolf Hitler, although he did not like the place because of his fear of heights.

The building, now a restaurant owned by a charitable trust, is visited mostly because of his historic significance. The interior displays furniture by Hungarian designer Paul László.
