Meet your guide for the day, an experienced art historian, right by Fontana delle Tiare and prepare yourself to climb the 551 steps of the dome. Climb at a leisurely pace and enjoy the journey.
Once at the top of the building, you will have a 360°-view of the Vatican City, Rome, and the seven hills.
After the climb, you will go all the way down to enjoy a brief break before entering the Basilica. Inside St. Peter’s Dome, you will have the chance to admire the masterpieces of the greatest artists of all times, like Michelangelo and Bernini.
After the visit to the Basilica, you will meet once again with your group (approx. 11.30am) to fast-enter the Vatican Museums. You will visit at your own pace the Classical Antiquities Museums, Gallery of Maps, Round Room, Hellenistic art in the Belvedere Courtyard, and of course the Sistine Chapel.
