If you are visiting Paris, one of the places you may want to add to your itinerary would be the Musée Marmottan Monet, a museum that holds the world’s biggest Monet collection as well as a rich selection of other impressionist and not impressionist painters.
Following very generous donations by Monet’s friends and son, the biggest Monet collection was put together, today letting visitors see the evolution of the famous French painter’s art, from his early caricatures of Le Havre’s characters to the paintings inspired by his house in Giverny.
There are other two important sections of the museum, one called the ‘Enluminures et Haute Époque’ or the ‘Illuminations and the High Middle Ages’ and the other is the collection of one of the three ‘dames de l’impressionism’ or ‘ladies of impressionism’, Berthe Morisot.
