La Ferriera del Bonano is an ancient ironworks that was in use until the seventies. It is a hydraulic factory that used the water from the Bonano torrent to work iron. It still retains the loading tank on the back, the three water wheels, with the respective feeding ducts, the wind machine (a long metal column, into which the water was conveyed, which allowed the flame of the forges to be fed directly ) and the gigantic internal hammers, moved to hydraulic energy, unique historical finds in central Italy. Its origins seem to date back to the sixteenth century under the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
